I wish my dad, John H. Cox, were here to this web page.
He was a yeoman onboard DD396 during the war.
He enlisted a few months prior to Dec 7, was first stationed in Athens, GA to learn how to become a yeoman.
There he met my mom. He passed away 3 years ago, but always loved to talk about the Jouett and some friends he had from it.
I have attached a photo of my dad standing off of the bridge of the Jouett.
As you can see, it shows that the Jouett claimed not only a sub (mentioned in your website history of the Jouett)
but also claims to 2 German aircraft (not mentioned in the history on your website)... in addition to numerous mines.
